چکیده
The Kemeny rule is one of the well studied decision rules. In this paper we show that only which unbiased, monotone, strongly tie-breaking, gradual, and weighed tournamental. We these conditions are logically independent.

An axiomatic characterization of Bayes' Rule
This paper provides an axiomatic characterization of Bayes’ Rule that is widely used for updating beliefs. Bayes’ Rule is viewed as a revision rule. Consider an agent whose belief about a set of states is characterized by a point in a unit simplex of appropriate dimension. Now new information emerges that rules out the possible occurrence of some of the states. The revision rule then assigns ne...
متن کاملAn Axiomatic Characterization of the Borda Mean Rule
Given a preference profile, a social dichotomy function partitions the set of alternatives into a set of approved alternatives and a set of disapproved alternatives. The Borda mean rule approves all alternatives with above-average Borda score, and disapproves alternatives with below-average Borda score. We show that the Borda mean rule is the unique social dichotomy function satisfying neutrali...
متن کاملAxiomatic Characterization of the Quadratic Scoring Rule
In the evaluation of experiments often the problem arises of how to compare the predictive success of competing probabilistic theories. The quadratic scoring rule can be used for this purpose. Originally, this rule was proposed as an incentive compatible elicitation method for probabilistic expert judgments. It is shown that up to a positive linear transformation, the quadratic scoring rule is ...
متن کاملWeakened Liberal Rule Respecting Others’ Consensus: An Axiomatic Characterization
We introduce the strong quasi-liberal rule, which is an extension of the strong liberal rule in Kasher and Rubinstein (1997) through the requirement of at least one agreement. We provide an axiomatic characterization of strong quasi-liberal rule. Similarly, we generalize the order of the rule (associated with the degree of minimum agreement requirement) to match the Consent Rules in Samet and S...
متن کاملAn Axiomatic Study of Scoring Rule Markets
Prediction markets are well-studied in the case where predictions are probabilities or expectations of future random variables. In 2008, Lambert, et al. proposed a generalization, which we call “scoring rule markets” (SRMs), in which traders predict the value of arbitrary statistics of the random variables, provided these statistics can be elicited by a scoring rule. Surprisingly, despite activ...
